Update from Peter Rand  (Chair Deanery Pastoral Forum) – 16 May 2026

Dear Fathers, Deacons and Lay members of the Deanery Pastoral Forum, I write with a heavy heart to tell you of my retirement as Chair of the Banbury & Warwick Deanery Pastoral Forum. Many of you have been involved since the first discussions and meetings in February 2023 to create a deanery body to bring together clergy and laity across the 25 parishes/churches…After three years since the initial meetings, two years since the first gathering of the Deanery Pastoral Forum and as I approach a big birthday (!), I feel it is time to hand over the reins. I am delighted that David McLoughlin from Wappenbury Parish has agreed to take over the role of Chair…..Meanwhile, I shall look forward to seeing you for the handover over at the next meeting of the Deanery Pastoral Forum at 7pm for around 1 ½ hours on Thursday 25 June in the parish of The Immaculate Conception, Bicester….Peter

St Anne’s course of study on the Church link.  This Home Study course is one of a number of activities to mark this Jubilee year 2025. It offers a short period of reflection on matters which relate to us as members of a Catholic parish. It is open to all, may be followed with different levels of participation and does not involve much commitment in terms of time. It is also free of charge!  The course is divided into six units. Each unit has been designed to provide enough to think about for a week’s reflection – although you can take as long as you like! Each course-participant will receive one unit per week by email attachment.  For more information or to enrol please email Chris Harris  charrislifelight@btinternet.com

Autumn 2023/Spring 2024

Initial meetings between clergy and laity from parishes who wished to attend were held in Autumn 2023/Spring 2024 in the North and South of the deanery. These developed into the constitution of a Deanery Pastoral Council, including all the clergy of the deanery and two lay representatives from each parish. It is anticipated that there will be 3-4 meetings in 2025.   The President is the Dean and the Chair is currently Peter Rand, Kenilworth Parish.
