Deanery Pastoral Council (DPC)

Deanery Meetings with Clergy & Laity 2024

Deanery News: The Archbishop has appointed Fr David Hartley, parish priest of Whitnash, as Dean. This was announced at the Deanery Pastoral Council last Thursday. The Deanery Pastoral Council is to meet three times a year.

“Good meeting of our Deanery Pastoral Council here on Thursday 21 November  with people from our huge Deanery stretching from Rugby to Charlbury- and His Grace has now asked me to be the Dean!” Fr David Hartley.

On Thursday 21st the Deanery Pastoral Council met together from all across the deanery. It was a positive and fruitful meeting with a chance to share the many ways we have been working together in local clusters and feed this back to the wider group. We hope that the deanery pastoral council will enable greater co-operation and provide the inspiration and support that will help us develop our communities mission and effectiveness. We all look forward not only to future deanery meetings, but also the ongoing local cluster meetings that are helping our parishes work together.  Simon (Deanery rep for the Catholic parish of Kenilworth). Autumn 2023/Spring 2024

Initial meetings between clergy and laity from parishes who wished to attend were held in Autumn 2023/Spring 2024 in the North and South of the deanery. These developed into the constitution of a Deanery Pastoral Council, including all the clergy of the deanery and two lay representatives from each parish. It is anticipated that there will be 3-4 meetings in 2025.   The President is the Dean and the Chair is currently Peter Rand, Kenilworth Parish.
